SEO- We all know what it is. Or do we? Isn't
SEO simply about keywords? Or coming in at the top of a Google search? Well... Yes
and no.
For beginners, SEO is about being found when
people search, but it’s also important to have an understanding of how this process
takes place. 10 years ago it was possible to trick the search engines by
keyword spamming your website. Often you would see large strings of associated
words (sometimes only visible through highlighting text) throughout the website
and especially on the home page. Today that strategy no longer works...

for links. How many OTHER pages are linked to your page? How many people have
"liked" your page? Every one of those links and likes is an arrow
that points a search engine to your site... And the search engines look for the
sites that have the most pointers directing viewers to one site versus another.
This is why social media is becoming so important... Each like is an arrow... a
pointer that directs surfers to you. Its why Social Media can actually
overpower your paid placement ads and banner advertising in the competition for
customers... Many marketers don't know where to start, but Social Media simply can’t
be ignored. By the way, Youtube is also a form of social media...
